英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To stably oscillate a single mode with a simple structure and to reduce an oscillation spectrum width by a method wherein a fundamental structure of a phase-shift distribution feedback laser is made as a unit, two or more pieces of this unit are connected in a longitudinal row in a direction of a resonator and a part to shift a phase of the light by a quarter wavelength is installed at each connection part. CONSTITUTION:A phase-shift distribution feedback semiconductor laser where a part to shift a phase of the light by a quarter wavelength is installed is used as a unit structure. Two of more pieces of this unit structure are connected in a longitudinal row in a direction of a resonator. In addition, the part to shift the phase of the light by a quarter wavelength is installed at this connection part. If the two or more pieces of phase shift DFB laser elements are coupled in a longitudinal row in this manner, the mode stability is kept constant and a length L of the resonator is extended. Accordingly, it is possible to obtain a semiconductor laser with a stable and long resonator and to obtain a laser oscillation line with a narrow line width. |
