英文摘要PURPOSE:To independently drive a semiconductor array laser by disposing an electrode on a mount like an island upon mounting the semiconductor array laser. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 31 located on one side of a semiconductor array laser 30 is bonded correspondingly to an electrode 21 placed on a mount 20, the latter electrode 21 being divided into a plurality of sub-electrodes in the vicinity of a bonding part. Hereby, the array laser 30 can not only independently driven, but there can be eliminated some drawbacks associated therewith such as thermal ones upon its being independently driven, any stress produced in wire bonding, and restriction of an electrode area.
