英文摘要PURPOSE:To enhance the luminous intensity of the central part of a luminous region and to contrive the improvement of an optical coupling efficiency to an optical fiber by a method wherein the region is isolated by concentric circle- shaped grooves. CONSTITUTION:A luminous region 1 is isolated by concentric circle-shaped grooves. Now, if a voltage is applied to a P electrode 2 and an N electrode 7, a current is constricted by an insulating film 3 and a current stopping structure, is injected in the region 1 split by the concentric circle-shaped grooves and light of a constant wavelength is emitted from the region 1 according to the composition of the region As a luminous intensity distribution (b) of the region 1 becomes dense in the vicinity of the central part of the region split by the grooves, the luminous intensity of the central part of the region 1 becomes intense and an optical coupling efficiency to an optical fiber is improved.
