英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To obtain a laser diode module which can increase the temperature adjusting ability of a laser diode and, at the same time, improve the frequency characteristic of the electrooptical converting efficiency by connecting an impedance converter to a high-frequency transmitting line in a package. CONSTITUTION:In this laser diode module, a transmission line 17 connecting the surface of an electronic cooling element 5 with a package 4 can be constituted of a relatively high characteristic impedance 3, since high-frequency signals for intensity modulation are impedance-converted by means of an impedance converter connected to the transmission line 17 in the package and the thermal isolation of a laser diode 1 on the electronic cooling element from the package can be increased further. In addition, the impedance converter and a high-frequency transmission line can be constituted of one component when a taper line 17 formed on a dielectric substrate is used. |
