| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To increase the photodetection area of a photodetector and to improve the recording density and signal S/N by making the irradiating direction of a light beam vertical to the active layer of a semiconductor laser and making the photodetecting plane of the photodetector in parallel with the active layer of the semiconductor laser. CONSTITUTION:The center of a common GaAs substrate 22 of an optical head 20a is provided with a distribution Bragg reflector type laser and a photodetec tor arranged at both sides of the Bragg laser via an insulation slot 23 incorporatedly, the DBR laser at its active waveguide side has an active layer 30, a melt back preventing layer 33, a GaAs layer and an electrode 26, the output waveguide side is provided with an Al0.1Ga0.9As layer 31 and a diffractive grating layer 32 and optical power is irradiated vertically or nearly vertically to the active layer. The photodetector consists of an Al0.1Ga0.9As layer 31a, a P-N junction layer 21 and transparent electrodes 27a, 27b. The light diffracted and reflected from the optical recording medium face is detected widely by arranging the photodetecting plane of the photodetector in parallel with the active layer of the semiconductor laser so as to improve the photodetecting efficiency, the recording density and signal S/N. |
