| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To form a reflection preventive film by one coating process and to alleviate reflectivity requesting accuracy to a reflection preventive film by forming an input port and an output port on the same flat surface or on parallel surfaces of the same direction. CONSTITUTION:Both end faces 5, 9 of a waveguide are inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to a light advancing direction by reactive ion etching, etc., and an input port 2 and an output port 2 of an optical signal are disposed on the side, upper faces of an element, such as a bottom. Thus, the step of forming the reflecting preventive film 2 may be conducted only once, a light emitted from a waveguide is propagated in InP layers 3, 4 whole expanding to reach an emitting face. Accordingly, the effective reflectivity of the emitting face is reduced, and requesting accuracy to the film 2 can be alleviated. |
