| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To allow optical axes to be accurately aligned by arranging an electrode wiring formed on the bottom of a clearance for accommodating a semiconductor layer in an opposed relation to an electrode of a semiconductor laser, aligning and holding the optical axes of an optical oscillation region and an optical waveguide, and firmly bonding the electrode wiring and the electrode by a plating method. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser 3 is inserted into a clearance 6 for accommodating a semiconductor laser provided within an optical path of an optical waveguide 7 disposed on a substrate 2. In this case, an electrode wiring 4 provided at the bottom of the clearance 6 is opposed to an electrode 36 of the semiconductor laser 3. Then, the axes of an optical oscillation region 39 of the semiconductor laser 3 and an optical waveguide 7 are aligned and held. Under this condition, both the semiconductor laser 3 and the substrate 2 are immersed in a plating solution and d.c. power is applied between the plate electrode of the plating solution and the electrode wiring 4 on the substrate 2. As a result, the electrode wiring 4 is gradually plated by an electric field plating method, and finally both the opposed electrode 36 and electrode wiring 4 are integrally secured. Accordingly, the optical axes of the optical oscillation region 39 and the optical waveguide 7 can accurately be aligned without contaminating the optical oscillation region 39 of the semiconductor laser. |
