| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To facilitate the manufacture of a fiber optic pig-tail module, by bending the optical axis of an active light guide, in which light is amplified and propagated with bending light guides or light-guide corner mirrors, and forming the input/output terminals of the light at the same one end surface. CONSTITUTION:When a forward bias voltage is applied across ohmic electrodes 18 and 19 on the (p) side and (n) side of a semiconductor laser (LD) optical amplifier, a current is injected. A gain is yielded with an InGaAsP active layer 12 in a mesa stripe 3 This active light guide is formed by connecting a path as shown by a dotted line between C and C' through corner mirrors 33a and 33b. Therefore, when input/output optical fibers are coupled and fixed with the input terminal C and the output terminal C', a pig-tail module comprising the optical amplifier and the fibers is obtained. When tip-ball fibers 35a and 35b, which are aligned so as to hold an Si groove substrate 34 so that a pitch is aligned with the module, are made to face the input/output end surfaces 20 of the LD optical amplifier and aligned, the coupling at the input side and the coupling at the output side can be obtained by only one position alignment and adjustment. Thus the optical fiber pig-tail module can be readily manufactured. |
