| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of reflected light from a photoirradiating medium on a semiconductor laser, by coupling a beam of light returned after being reflected on an external medium with another focusing grating coupler at a place with a different waveguide layer. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam emitted from the semiconductor laser 1 is propagated in an Si substrate 2 and an optical waveguide layer 4 formed on a buffer layer 3, and is condensed on an optical disk 6 by the focusing grating coupler 5. The beam of light reflected on the disk 6 does not arrive at the coupler 5, and a part of it or total of them arrive at a pair of focusing grating coupler 7, and are condensed in the neighborhood of a photodetector 8 by the coupler 7. Also, a part of the emitted light of the laser 1 is diffracted at the coupler 7, however, it is not condensed on the disk 6, which gives no influence on the characteristic of a device. In such a way, it is possible to reduce the influence of the light returned from the medium. |
