英文摘要PURPOSE:To improve the mechanical strength and moisture resistance of an optical fiber by forming an injection hole for a fixing material at the boundary between a guide and the coating body of the optical fiber, charging the fixing material entirely in the hollow part, and holding and fixing the core of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A resin injection groove 24 is formed axially in th external surface of the internal end part of the jacket 19 of the optical fiber. Then, an area reduction part 22 is formed through the caulking of a caulking cylinder 21 to fix a jacket guide 16 to the guide 14. In this case, the resin injection hole 39 is formed by the groove 24. Further, an exposed groove 18 is fixed to a fiber guide 17 with the fixing material 20 such as solder. In this state, a resin 23 is charged entirely; in the hollow part between both fixing parts in a vacuum device to hold and fix the core 18 of the optical fiber 10. Consequently, the mechanical strength and moisture resistance of the optical fiber are improved.
