| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To obtain an integrated type phase synchronizing semiconductor laser device possessed of a light converging property by a method wherein a stripe space and a stripe width at a light projecting end face of two or more optical waveguides are so determined as to conform to a Fresnel condition. CONSTITUTION:Optical waveguides 31 of a refractive index waveguide type join together in a Y coupled region 41 to enable laser rays to oscillate in a lateral base mode that the laser rays become coincident with each other in phase at light projecting end faces 33 and 35. The projecting apertures of the waveguides 31 are so arranged at the light projecting end faces 51 and 52 as to be nearly in a line and provided to a left and right side symmetrically about a center O. Distances X1, X2,. of edges X1A, X2A,.,X1B, X2B. of the light projecting end faces from the center O are so set as to satisfy a formula, Xn=(nflambda) (where n denotes natural number, f is distance between the projecting end face and laser rays converging point, lambda represents wavelength of projected rays). Therefore, a Fresnel condition is satisfied at the projecting end face, whereby the laser rays converge to a point separate from the end faces 33 and 35 by a distance of f, so that a condensing lens can be dispensed with and a laser system can be miniaturized. |
