Densification of C/SiC composite surface by the hybrid process of laser cladding and subsequent heat treatment

英文摘要 | To improve the surface roughness of carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide (C/SiC) composite, a glass film was prepared by the hybrid process of laser cladding and subsequent heat treatment in the study. The results indicate that the laser cladding technology solves the poor wettability between the molten glass and substrate; the heat treatment increases the density and surface smoothness of the glass film. At the same time, the heat treatment repairs the cracks and decreases the porosities of the laser cladding layer. The surface roughness of the glass film before polishing is 7.846 nm rms, and the thickness is 16 mu m. There is a good metallurgical bonding without porosity between the glass film and substrate. Especially, the critical load estimated by scratch test is 129 N, which is 8 times that of heat treatment without laser cladding. |
