英文摘要Objective To investigate the toxic effects of the beta-amyloid (Abeta) peptide depends on its length in transgenic Drosophila model of Alzheimer′s disease (AD).Methods Using the classic GAL4/UAS system, three groups of transgenic flies expressing Abeta_(40)(Abeta_(40) group), Abeta_(42)(Abeta_(42) group) and Abeta_(43)(Abeta_(43) group) were constructed in neurons respectively. The climbing assay and survival assay were performed on the three groups and control flies.Results Compared with control group, all Abeta-expressing flies showed enhanced age-dependent locomotor decline and shortened lifespan, with the order:control group>Abeta_(40) group>Abeta_(42) group>Abeta_(43) group.Conclusions Expression of Abetain neurons produces toxicity in Drosophila and the toxicity is length-dependent, the longer the higher.
