英文摘要PURPOSE:To control each laser-beam output independently by arranging photodiode chips separately receiving laser beams for monitor emitted from each waveguide for semiconductor laser chips by respective photodiode onto the edge face of a resonator emitting laser beams for monitor. CONSTITUTION:Photodiode chips 11 constituting photodiode arrays with a plurality of light-receiving surfaces 12, 13 separately receiving laser beams for monitor emitted from each waveguide 2, 3 for semiconductor chips 1 by respective photodiode are disposed onto the edge face of a resonator emitting laser beams for monitor. Consequently, each waveguide 2, 3 for the semiconductor laser chips 1 and respective light-receiving surface 12, 13 of the photodiode chips 11 separately form pairs and are organized. Accordingly, outputs from the photodiodes are used for controlling laser beam outputs from a semiconductor laser array device, thus independently controlling laser beam outputs from the semiconductor laser array device.
