英文摘要PURPOSE:To improve secondary harmonic conversion efficiency by forming on the same plane two types of optical waveguides having laser emission function and secondary harmonic generation function, and construction a ring type laser light resonator with the two types of waveguides. CONSTITUTION:Optical waveguides 2, 3 are formed into a square shape on a substrate That is, a square ring type optical resonator is formed with the optical waveguides 2 and 3 and four reflecting planes comprising cleavage planes 11-14. Lasing is induced in the optical waveguide 3 of the ring type optical resonator, and secondary harmonic is generated(SHG) in the optical waveguide 2. A dielectric laminate film 7 is deposited on the surface of the cleavage plane 12 for taking out the SHG from the optical resonator to the outside and utilizing the same as a light source. Further, a dielectric laminate film 8 is deposited on the surface of the cleavage plane 14 for continuously stably keeping the laser light in the optical resonator unchanged as an output. The laser light and the SHG light are precisely matched in their phases to improve secondary harmonic conversion efficiency.
