英文摘要PURPOSE:To facilitate the adjustment of an optical system constituting an external resonator and provide the device with a compact optical element by providing a semiconductor laser device incorporating the external resonator right-angled isosceles triangle-shaped and comprising the optical element including an optical waveguide. CONSTITUTION:Emanating laser light 15 from one end surface of a semiconductor laser 11 is guided into an optical waveguide 12 accommodated in a prismatic optical element 10 with the bottom surface right-angled isosceles triangle-shaped. Then, the light is reflected in succession on a reflecting surfaces 14 and 13 and further the reflecting surface 14 (the reflecting surfaces 13, 14 are perfectly reflecting ones.), and fed back to the semiconductor laser 11 as returned light. The position of the optical element 10 is adjusted in directions x and y for making optimum a feedback condition at that time. Laser light 16 emanating from the other end surface of the semiconductor laser 11 is used as output light after transmission through a lens 17.
