| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To obtain a gain spectrum area wherein there is no gain difference with wavelength by providing a wavelength selective loss means which eliminates light with a specific wavelength or wavelength by demultiplexing or absorbing the light from an optical amplification area in waveguide structure for amplifying waveguide light. CONSTITUTION:The wavelength selective loss means consists of a main waveguide connected directly to the optical amplification area 19, an adjacent sub waveguide, a grating which couples those waveguides on a wavelength selective basis, a directional coupler, etc. A part which becomes an optical input/output part is removed by wet etching almost to an optical waveguide 6, a p type electrode 13 is provided on the top surface of a cap layer 8 and at a part which is formed into the optical amplification area 19, and an n type electrode 14 is provided on the reverse surface of a substrate Then the surface which becomes the optical input/output part is cut by cleavage and a ZrO2 film is vapor-deposited on its end surface to form a nonreflective coating film 15. Consequently, the optical amplifier which is improved in gain spectrum and has no difference in gain with wavelength is obtained. |
