| 英文摘要 | PURPOSE:To increase the integration degree sufficiently even if a waveguide path is made long, by forming electric circuit elements on the light-guide path. CONSTITUTION:An electric signal, which is inputted in a laser part 16, is converted into a light signal. The signal becomes laser light, and it is propagat ed in a light-guide layer 2 and absorbed by a light receiving part 17. The light is converted into an electric signal again. The laser part 16 has a distribution reflection structure comprising a diffraction grating. Therefore, a single mode oscillation is performed, and coherence property is good. A semi-insulating InP layer 7 in an electric circuit element part 18 serves as a substrate for the element part 18. At the same time, the layer 7 serves as a clad layer for the layer 2. Thus the laser light is completely confined in the layer 2 and propagat ed. The light, which is transmitted through optical fiber, is received by the light receiving part 17. The light is converted into the electric signal and ampli fied by the element part 18. The signal is converted into the light signal again by the laser part 16, and the light signal is returned to the optical fiber. |
