英文摘要PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of an equipment for receiving the resonated light by using a light receiving surface of a photo detector for one reflecting surface of an optical resonator. CONSTITUTION:One end face 11a of a semiconductor laser 11 is processed so as not to be reflected and the light output from the face is converged on a light receiving face 13a of a photo detector 13 by a lens 12. The light output for the other end face of the semiconductor laser 11 is taken out through a lens 14. A diffraction grating formed on the other end face of the semiconductor laser 11 or on an active layer functions as one reflecting surface of an optical resonator while the light receiving face 13a of the photo detector functions as the other reflecting surface. Therefore, a plane mirror which has been conventionally used is not required now, making the structure of the optical resonator simple. The light receiving face 13a of the photo detector has a reflectance of 25 to 35% as it is. When a higher reflectance is required, the light receiving face should be coated with a reflecting film such as a direct dielectric multilayer film.
