英文摘要This work addressed the integrated project management of water resources in a costal city, Haihou City in China. Based on investigation of renewable water resources distribution, an underground water storage project was carried out for water safety utility and seawater intrusion prevention in the new planned city area. Methods for surface water reuse and seawater intrusion prevention were integrated to produce comprehensive program management in the project. River water was transported to inner lakes through constructed channels and further formed new water system in the land, which could not only resist flood and drought but also provide water sources for underground storage. Water tables of groundwater increased owing to balance between the supply and the demand, which recovered the coastal aquifers and effectively prevented seawater intrusion. Water qualities of the recovered groundwater were significantly improved but with certain salt matter addition due to the previous seawater intrusion. In view of its ecological value and environment benefits, the project has been properly managed with ecosystem sustainable and program dynamic.
