英文摘要The characteristics and formation of the Yadong-Dongqiao-Huluhu Belt (YDHB) are important to the understanding of crustal deformation, material movement and deep dynamics of the Tibetan Plateau. Analyses on multiple elements suggests that: (1) The YDHB is an intracontinental rift under EW-directed extensional force as evidenced by spatial distribution of crust and mantle structures; (2) High seismicity, distribution of abnormal terrestrial heat flow and the stress field by mantle convection indicate that it is an active continental rift; (3) The formation and evolution of the YDHB is the product of intense exchange of material and energy in the Earth's interiors.
