英文摘要The dynamic mechanical properties of open-cell aluminum alloy foams with different relative densities have been investigated using Split Hopkins on pressure ban (SHPB). Their response to strain rates has been tested over a wide range of strain rates, i.e. from 1 x 10(-3) s(-1) to 2 600 s(-1) at room temperature. The experimental results show that the dynamic compressive stress-strain curves exhibit a typical three-stage behavior: elastic, plateau and densification. The dynamic compressive strength of foam with high relative density is more sensitive to strain rate than that with lower relative density. The strain rate sensitivity of the foam is not a constant value and is found to be dependent on the strain.
