Preparation and properties of Fe-based bulk metallic glass

| 英文摘要 | A bulk metallic glass (BMG) cylinder of Fe60Co8Zr10Mo5W2B15 with a diameter of 1.5 mm was prepared by copper mould casting industrial raw materials. The amorphous state was indicated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The thermal stability parameters, such as glass transition temperature (T-g) I crystallization onset temperature (T-x), supercooled liquid region (Delta T-x =T-x - T-g), and reduced glass transition temperature (T-rg = T-g/T-m) were measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) to be 891 K, 950 K, 59 K, and 0.62, respectively. In the Mossbauer spectrum exists a broadened and asymmetric doublet-like peak which indicates paramagnetic behavior and a fully amorphous structure. The potentiodymnic polarization experiments show that this alloy has a high corrosion resistance in 3.5%NaCl solution and its anodic reaction has a passive characteristic. EIS consists only of single capacitive loop, manifesting a high corrosion resistance. This bulk metallic glass also has a high hardness of HV1032. |
