英文摘要The experiment of rapid continuous solidification of Al-Bi immiscible alloys with composition ranged from 3.4% to 15% (mass fraction) Bi has been carried out. The influences of the Bi content and the casting rate on the microstructure evolution during the rapid continuous solidification have been investigated. It has been indicated that the average size of the Bi-rich particles increases with the increase of the Bi content. Increasing the casting rate is in favor of the preparation of immiscible alloy with dispersed microstructure. The size distribution of the Bi-rich particles has been analyzed, and it was shown that the size variation of the Bi-rich particles along the axial and radial directions of the sample is not distinct, while on the sample surface the particle size is relative small. It is indicated that the rapid continuous solidification is a potential technique to be used in the manufacturing of immiscible alloy.
