Study of hydrogen embrittlement of Fe-Ni base alloy by positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy

英文摘要 | Positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy was used to study the occupying rule and action mechanism of hydrogen in a Fe-Ni base precipitation-strengthened austenitic alloy. Tensile tests, SEM and TEM were performed to investigate the influences of heat treatment and hot hydrogen charging on its microstructure and mechanical properties. Results showed that hydrogen charging increased vacancy clusters' concentration in solution treated alloy and improved its strength while slightly decreased its plasticity; in peak aged alloy, hydrogen entered the grain boundaries with a little amount of carbides and inter-grain vacancy clusters rather than gamma'/gamma interface, resulting in an obvious drop of plasticity; overaging treatment made gamma' coarsening and gamma'/gamma interface became hydrogen traps, in addition, hydrogen also entranced the grain boundaries with interconnection carbides. Those two factors led to a dramatic drop of the alloy plasticity. |
