英文摘要The effect of columnar microstructure of sputtered NiAl micro crystalline coating on its isothermal and cyclic oxidation behaviors at 1000 degreesC in air was investigated by TGA, and SEM. Results indicate that micro-voids existing in the columnar interface as an additional free surface play an important role in the initial oxidation kinetics, and the scale adhesion was improved by the way of forming micropegs in the columnar interfaces. A simple model concerning the additional free surface due to the existence of columnar interfaces is proposed.
