Hot deformation behavior of silicon carbide particulate reinforced 2024 aluminium-based composite

英文摘要The hot deformation behavior of 17% SiCp/2024Al (volume fraction) alloy composite was investigated by using Gleeble 1500 dynamic testing machine at temperature range from 573 to 773 K and at strain rate range from 0.02 to 0.5 s(-1). The results indicate that the flow stress of the composite decreases with increasing deformation temperature and decreasing strain rate, which can be explained reasonably on the basis of the model of dislocation-particulate interactions during the hot deformation. The hot deformation activation energy of the composite calculated with the Power-Arrhenius function epsilon(over dot) = Asigma(1/m)exp(-Q/RT) is varied at different deformation temperatures and is of 250 kJ.mol(-1) at the temperature range from 623 to 723 K.
