Refinement of pure iron grain by severe rolling technique

英文摘要Nanostructured bulk pure iron has been successfully prepared by severe hot rolling and cool rolling with the usual rolling equipment and heat treatments. The analysis of XRD shows that the grain size in surface layer of specimen after severe rolling and restored at 300degreesC for 7 h is about 38.9 nm. The analysis of transmission electron microscope (TEM) shows that the grain size in the middle of specimen is about 87.5 nm. The prepared bulk nanostructured pure iron has no hole-like defect and possesses better heat stability of grain size.
