data-language="eng" data-ev-field="abstract">The level of response to the prevalent covid-19 has varied from place to place. However, culture and big data using rapidly have played a huge role in determining the direction as to which different countries and people respond. A total of 219 people through the internet were sampled randomly for this study during the lockdown time. Questionnaires were electronically distributed through WeChat and other social media platforms through the internet. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were using SPSS to analyse the collected data. Through those big data show that Americans from a scale of 1 to 7 had more protection confidence M = 5, SD = 1.22 than Chinese M = 3, SD = 1.03. The Chinese had more Pathogenic aversion M = 5, SD = 0.18 while the Americans scored M = 4, SD = 0.11 from a scale of 1 to 7. It was noticed that the phenomenon of internal group preference and external group exclusion occurs in outbreaks. The results indicated that the collectivist culture has a higher tendency to think as a group and interdependently corroborate in responding to pandemic outbreaks like the Covid-19 compared to the individualists, which therefore can be attributed to why China a collectivist country has responded better than America an individualist country in dealing with the prevalent Covid-19 pandemic.
