英文摘要In this work, fracture behaviors of MRI compatible Nb-60Ta-2Zr alloy were investigated under quasi-static and fatigue loadings. The tensile fracture started with the decohesion of grain boundaries, and followed by microvoid coalescence. Fatigue tests were performed at ambient air as well as in simulated physiological solution with pH = 5.0 at R = 0.1. No deterioration happened with fatigue limit of 300 MPa when loaded in the corrosive solution. For both environments, the fatigue crack initiated at grain boundary and then propagated transgranularly. The grain boundary strength plays a key role in the fracture under both quasi-static and cyclic loadings.
