Suppression of diffraction stray light in the inner-occulted coronagraph

英文摘要 | The coronagraph is a telescope system for the purpose of observing the solar atmosphere. Diffraction light is the strongest source of stray light apart from the solar radiation in this system and need to be suppressed effectively. The propagation of the diffraction light in an inner-occulted coronagraph is simulated by the methods of ray tracing and Gabor transformation. The focus position and the intensity distribution of the diffraction light are obtained. The over-occulting ratio of the Lyot stop is then decided to be 6% based on the simulation results. The level of stray light in the system is measured with a sun simulator in a class 1000 cleanroom before and after the installation of the Lyot stop. Experimental result shows that the diffraction light can be suppressed effectively after the Lyot stop is applied, and the total intensity of the stray light in the final image plane is reduced by about 2 orders of magnitude. The observation capability of the coronagraph will be significantly improved after the diffraction light is eliminated. 2019, Science Press. All right reserved. |
