Review of reactive magnesia-based cementitious materials Current developments and potential applicability

英文摘要Previous research on reactive cementitious materials shows that, compared with traditional calcium-based cementitious materials, reactive magnesia-based cementitious materials (an alternative cementitious material) exhibit excellent mechanical properties; different hydration mechanisms, hydration products, and microstructures; and considerably high durability. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the raw materials, hydration products, phase transformation evolution, and crystal structures of reactive magnesia-based cementitious materials. Furthermore, developments in terms of the durability of reactive magnesia-based cementitious materials are summarized and analyzed based on the carbonation performance, water resistance, and brine corrosion resistance. Finally, considering the existing problems and advantages of reactive magnesia-based cementitious materials, potential future research directions are highlighted.
