中文摘要 | ChIN(the Chemical Information Network)网站是一个化学和化工领域方面的专业化资源导航系统。目前ChIN是通过文件和目录的方式来实现记录和管理数据的。随着网站规模的放大、网站所提供的信息量的增加,这种通过文件和目录方式管理存储信息的方式不仅给系统的日常维护带来很大的困难,也大大限制了ChIN的易用性和与用户的交互能力。例如在基于文件方式管理的模式下,Web用户对站点的查询只能进行基于文本的全文检索,无法进行比较精确的检索;与用户的交互只能通过e-mail进行。针对这些问题,结合ChIN的实际发展需求,在第二版ChIN中采用了关系数据库来管理整个导航系统。本论文介绍了第二版ChIN的数据库设计和模块设计,着重对导航系统与用户的交互性进行分析设计,创建了增强ChIN的易用性和开放性的功能模块。建立了基于数据库检索的ChIN网站最新内容(What's New)功能模块,灵活、及时、准确地反映ChIN最新增加或更新的信息。实现了ChIN简报(ChIN Newsletter)的订阅和自动发送,这一功能可把反映ChIN更新情况的ChIN简报通过e-mail自动发送到用户的桌面系统。对整个站点的内容提供了支持中、英文查询的全文检索,采用了CGLIMPSE对ChIN站点的内容建立全文索引库,用户可通过关键词对ChIN的所有内容进行全文检索。建立了用户参与站点资源建设的接口,用户可以通过ChIN来发布自己的信息,如提供信息资源、链接自己的站点、发布会议信息等。用户也可以对ChIN已有的化学化工信息资源进行评价,从而为ChIN建立起资源优胜劣汰的机制。建立了ChIN化学家地址/信息库以及检索系统,方便了化学家之间进行联络。各个功能模块均对中、英文两个版本分别建立,方便了不同语种用户的浏览使用。通过以上的改进,提高了ChIN站点与用户的交互能力,既有助于ChIN中所索引资源的优化,也提高了ChIN的易用性。 |
英文摘要 | ChIN (the Chemical Information Network) is an Internet chemical resources navigator to help chemists to find chemistry information on Internet. The current version of ChIN is a file system, that mainly consists of HTML documents under different directories. The maintenance of ChIN has become more and more difficult for editors to keep it up to date as the site of the file system grows larger. The accessibility and interactive ability of ChIN are also quite limited based on such a file system. For example, e-mail is the basic way for communication between the user and editors of ChIN at present. Full-text searching is the only possible way for fast locating of information for the current ChIN. Thus, a database model has been applied to the new version of ChIN. This paper focuses on the design and implementation of the web interactive modules between the ChIN database and users. The modules carry out the daily tasks to accept user submitted new resources and user's comments or voting for a specific piece of resource into ChIN's database. The modules are also responsible for the subscription and automated delivery of the e-main based ChIN newsletter, for the database searching (such as What's new) and full-text searching for ChIN, for chemist's registering and searching in the ChIN phone book. All the modules are implemented both for the English and Chinese version of ChIN. These web interactive modules will not only increase the accessibility and ease-of-use of ChIN, but also will enable users to contribute their knowledge and experiences to the content of ChIN which is helpful for the quality control of the resources indexed in ChIN. |
