Electromagnetic analyses of the CFETR TF coil terminal

英文摘要 | To develop and validate the manufacturing technologies of the key components for the CFETR, a comprehensive research facility for fusion technology (CRAFT) project has been approved by the Chinese government in 2019. As part of this project, a full size toroidal field (TF) prototype coil is being constructed by the Institute of Plasma Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences. In this paper, our main concern is the TF coil terminal, which is quite complex as it integrates many sub-systems and interfaces in a very limited space and connects the TF coil to the cryogenic supply, the power supply and other systems. In order to provide the design basis for the TF coil terminal, electromagnetic analyses are performed. First the structures of the TF coil winding packs (WPs) and the coil terminal are presented. Then, electromagnetic analyses are conducted for the condition of 16 TF energized, and for the condition of a single TF energized, namely the cryogenic test condition for a single TF prototype coil. Finally, the magnetic field and Lorentz force on the external joints, leads and jumpers are calculated, visualized and discussed. Our results indicate that the single TF energized load condition is more important for the design of the TF coil terminal, than the 16 TF energized condition. |
