英文摘要 | field="abstract">Although commitment has been proved to be an influential approach to change behavior, it is still vague how it can be effectively implemented to promote recycling on large-scale operations for children and their families. This field study collected both quantitative and qualitative data to investigate the effectiveness of commitment-based approaches in encouraging children and their families to recycle. A total of 180 children (age 7 to 8 years) and 180 caregivers were assigned to one of four cumulative intervention conditions: signature, activity, copy, and agent. All the committed children developed better knowledge and behaviors of recycling after treatments. The agent group, in which children committed to promote changes in the family, had a significant improvement in children's commitment rates and family sorting knowledge. Our study supports the bidirectional theory of parent-child relationships, and sheds new light on the intergenerational influences of commitment-related interventions in recycling for children and their families. |
