英文摘要 | Though shrub encroachment have various negative impacts on rangeland, there is a large area of shrub planted on degraded rangeland due to the persistence of shrub systems to water shortage and the value for utilization. Focusing on the role of hydrological connectivity and sediment connectivity played in the ecosystem dynamic, this paper first revealed the trajectories of connectivity evolution and resource capture after shrub planting in degraded dryland rangeland, then discussed the understanding of the system with the concept of connectivity. The research gaps were summarized addressing connectivity-based evaluation and prediction of the change and sustainable management of the new ecosystem established. Future research priorities include developing the connectivity-based indicators and prediction models of this eco-hydro-geomorphological system by addressing the nonlinearity and thresholds of the ecosystem response to hydrological and sediment connectivity, and developing social ecological frameworks and tools. |
