英文摘要Thermogravimetricanalysis???TGA??????differentialscanningcalorimetry???DSC???analysisandmechanicaltensiletestsshowedthatthemodificationofnanoGd2O3improvedthethermalstability???tensilestrength???elongationatbreakandYoung'smodulusofthecomposites.Theneutronand gamma???rayshieldingperformanceoftheM-nanoGd2O3/B4C/HDPEwasstudiedbyrealtestsandMonteCarlosimulation.TheresultsshowedthatthemodifiednanoGd2O3withex???cellentinterfacialcompatibilityanddispersioncouldenhancetheneutronand gamma???rayshieldingrateeffectively.ThesquareshapeM-nanoGd2O3/B4C/HDPEmaterialcouldachieveaneutronshieldingrateof90%atthicknessof11.7cmanda gamma???rayshieldingrateof70%atthicknessof13.5cm The surface of nano-sized gadolinium oxide???nanoGd2O3???was modified by the coupling agent???3-???trime???thoxysilyl???propyl methacrylate???KH570??????and a new type of nanocomposite???modified-gadolinia/boron carbide/poly???ethylene???M-nanoGd2O3/B4C/HDPE???was prepared by the hot-pressing method. The results of Fourier transforminfrared spectroscopy???FTIR??????scanning electron microscopy???SEM???and energy dispersive X-ray energy spectroscopy???EDS???show that the nanoGd2O3wassuccessfully modified bycoupling reagent and the surface modificationof nanoGd2O3significantly improved the interfacial compatibility and dispersion in the polyethylene matrix
