英文摘要The jacket of cable in conduit conductor (CICC) is the primary component to bear the high electromagnetic load during operation. This function creates requirements for high mechanical properties such as strength and toughness at cryogenic temperature, especially for the high field magnets application. Due to its high yield strength of beyond 1300 MPa at cryogenic temperature, the austenitic stainless steel N50 is considered as one of the promising material for fabricating the conduit for high field magnets application. But during magnets manufacturing, the jacket shall experience critical processes, such as cold working and heat treatment at 650 degrees C, which may cause its plastic properties degradation. In this manuscript, the performance of the developed N50 conduit is introduced, and the effects from cold working and heat treatment on its mechanical performance at cryogenic temperature are discussed. These results can promote the development of N50 conduit with higher strength and toughness.
