Discovery and prospecting potential of volcanic beryllium mineralization in Kulongshan, northern Hebei Province.

英文摘要There is a series of Early Cretaceous volcanic -shallow intrusive rocks in the Kulongshan area of the northern Hebei Province. The geochemistry of the alkali -feldspar granite and the rhyolitic porphyry in the Kulongshan massif indicate that they are typical A -type granite and formed in an extensional tectonic setting within the plate. Recently, beryllium mineralization associated with rhyolitic porphyry and alkali feldspar granite has been found in the area. Through field investigation and laboratory analysis, the beryllium mineralization mainly occurs in the alteration zone of alkali feldspar granites which is closely related to Fe-Mn mineralization and Pb-Zn mineralization, meanwhile associated Rb, Nb, Pb and Zn mineralization also occurs in the altered rock. The beryllium minerals are mainly helvite and phenacite, with a small amount of bertrandite. In addition, the study area is located in GuyuanHongshanzi uranium forming area and many uranium mineralization belts have been found, so it is speculated that the metallogenic type of this area is volcanic Be -U deposit. The Kulongshan area has similar rock type, formation age, tectonic setting and beryllium mineralization characteristics with the volcanic intrusive beryllium metallogenic belt in the southeast coast, and as a result, it has very good prospecting potential of Be, U, Nb, Pb, Zn and other polymetallic deposits. Therefore, the geological prospecting and exploration work and metallogenic mechanism research should be strengthened.
