英文摘要 | A densitometry instrument based on X-ray industrial CT technique has been developed and fitted on a 326-mm-dia. downer unit at the high-bay laboratory of the Institute of Process Engineering, CAS, which was originally built at the Institute of Process Engineering (IVUK) of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ), and later transported and reconstructed in a Multi-Phase Reaction Laboratory in 2002. The instrument is a third generation X-ray CT scanner (fan beam geometry) mainly composed of a 100 kV constant potential X-ray source, a linear-array X-ray detector and a specially designed gantry, and characterized by a spatial resolution of 1 mm, a density resolution of 1% and a temporal resolution of 30s per cross-section. Through careful calibration, the solid concentration profiles within the 0.5-m-height measurement zone in the downer have been derived from the reconstructed images. In addition, when working in the projection digital radiography mode, the instrument is capable of providing hydrodynamic information for gas-solid two-phase flow with a temporal resolution as high as 1 ms. The dispersion measure was examined against its capability for quickly forming a homogeneous gas-solid suspension immediately after the solids entered the downer unit using the measured solid concentration profiles by X-ray CT scanner. In order to investigate the tempo- and spatial-distribution of the heterogeneous structures in a multi-phase flow system by virtue of an X-ray based technique, a project for further improving the scanner's temporal resolution is being pursued in this lab. 漏 2014 International Society for Industrial Process Tomography. |
