Buildup of high particle flux and high solid density circulating conveying flow

英文摘要 | Gasification of coal and biomass is in pursuit of the technologies based on dual bed combination and high-density transport bed. Dual fluidized bed gasification (DFBG) relies on rapidly circulating sufficiently more particles between the combustor and the gasifier to provide the gasification reaction endothermic heat. High-density transport bed gasification (HTBG) has to work with high density of particles inside the transport bed gasifier in order to increase the bed heat reserve and to suppress tar evolution with gasification. By coupling a moving bed to the bottom section of the riser (i.e., conveying column), the present article built and managed a high particle flux and a high solid density in the riser of a newly designed circulating fluidized bed. Tests in the 12 m tall, 90 mm diameter riser utilizing silica sand of 378 渭m as the fluidizing material showed that the new bed configuration allowed solids circulation rate of up to 400 kg/(m2s), which corresponds to a mass ratio of solid to gas of about 35, and the explicit local solid holdup of up to 0.3 at the riser bottom to be realized simultaneously at the superficial gas velocity of about 9.0 m/s in the riser. The results demonstrated also that the particle circulation rate and local solid holdup in the riser were highly dependent on moving bed aeration and primary gas velocity in the riser, while the secondary air injection had only a slight effect on the circulation rate. |
