CFD Simulation of Pulsed Disc and Doughnut Solvent Extraction Column on Industrial Grade

英文摘要 | A CFD mathematical model was established for an industrial pulsed disc and doughnut extraction column. The effects of liquid holdup, axial diffusion, turbulent energy dissipation rate and plate spacing on the extraction column were studied by using the CFD model. The results show that the predicted liquid holdup of CFD model is in good agreement with the experimental results, and the established CFD model is effective. Compared with the empirical formula, the predicted liquid holdup of CFD model is more accurate. The axial diffusion coefficient of the extraction column increases with the pulse intensity, so the pulse intensity is not easy to be too high in engineering application. At the same time, the velocity of continuous phase has more effect on the axial diffusion coefficient than that of dispersed phase. The empirical formula constant of turbulent energy dissipation rate proposed by Kummar was corrected by CFD model, and the correction constant is 0.81, which improves the accuracy of calculation results. Finally, by comparing the hydraulic calculation results of extraction column with different plate spacing, it is more reasonable to select 50 mm plate spacing for engineering design. 漏 2021, Editorial Board of Atomic Energy Science and Technology.
