英文摘要 | In order to solve the problem of water eutrophication caused by long-term usage of water treatment agents containing phosphorus or nitrogen, a novel phosphorus-free and non-nitrogen scale inhibition and dispersion agent was synthesized with itaconic acid (IA) and sodium methyl propylene sulfonate (SMAS). Static experimental methods were used to evaluate its scale inhibition and dispersion performance, and the biodegradability was measured. The results show that the best overall performance can be reached when the mass ratio of itaconic acid to sodium methacrylate is 10:5. The scale inhibition rate against calcium carbonate and calcium phosphate can reach 100% with a dosage of 30 mgL-1 and 75 mgL-1, respectively. In addition, the scale inhibition rate against calcium sulfate is up to 94% with a concentration of 7 mgL-1. It shows the best dispersion effect for iron oxide with a dosage of 40 mgL-1. The biodegradation rate reaches 63.55% after 21 days. This polymer is an environmentally friendly anti-scale dispersant with good scale inhibition and biodegradability. 漏 2021, Editorial Board of 'Journal of Chemical Engineering of Chinese Universities'.
