Development and Application of a Novel Hybrid CEEMDAN-LWT Denoising Approach in Microseismic Monitoring

英文摘要 | Microseismic denoising is of great significance for source localization and source parameter inversion, which lays a solid foundation for rock burst early warning. This study developed a novel hybrid complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise-lifting wavelet transform (CEEMDAN-LWT)-based microseismic denoising approach. Firstly, the microseismic signal is decomposed into multiple different modes through the CEEMDAN. Then, the correlation coefficient between each mode and the microseismic signal is calculated to identify the valid, intermediate, and invalid modes. To address the issue of the coexistence of noise and useful information, the LWT is used to enhance the quality of intermediate modes. After that, the microseismic signal is reconstructed from the valid modes and the enhanced intermediate modes. In order to check the denoising capabilities of the proposed approach, a numerical experiment was carried out, and the results illustrated that the CEEMDAN-LWT achieved the highest signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the smallest absolute reconstruction error (ARE) in comparison with the other eight denoising methods (i.e., CEEMD-LWT, EEMD-LWT, EMD-LWT, CEEMDAN, CEEMD, EEMD, EMD, and LWT). Finally, the CEEMDAN-LWT was applied to field microseismic monitoring of a water diversion tunnel project, which further verified its effectiveness, applicability, and superiority in microseismic denoising. |
