中文摘要Global climate change is one of the most urgent challenges the world faces today, drawing widespread attention from the international community. Workplace, as significant sites of energy consumption, play a crucial role in reducing global carbon emissions and enhancing energy sustainability. Compared to the household energysaving behavior, studies on energy-saving behaviors in the workplace has been relatively limited. As the main consumers of energy in workplaces, employees are vital for achieving energy-saving goals. Understanding and promoting internal energy-saving behaviors, particularly autonomous actions by employees, is indispensable in addressing climate challenges. Climate change information engagement is crucial for enhancing employees' environmental awareness and encouraging energy-saving and emission-reduction behaviors. Although previous research has examined the spread of climate change information and public awareness, there remains a need for further exploration into how employees' engagement with climate change information in the workplace affects their energy-saving behaviors and how cultural backgrounds affect these behaviors. This paper aims to delve into the influence of climate change information engagement on employees' energy-saving behaviors in the workplace and to explore the differences in these behaviors across different cultures, offering valuable insights and strategic recommendations for globally addressing climate change, particularly in promoting energy-saving and emission-reduction behaviors in workplaces. Study 1 investigated the impact of climate change information engagement on energysaving behavior in the workplace among professionals, using 801 survey responses. Perceived behavioral control, attitude and organizational intervention were included as control variables to enhance the accuracy of the results. The findings confirmed a significant positive correlation between climate change information engagement and energy-saving behavior in the workplace. Study 2, building on the conclusions of Study 1, conducted research among employees of a multinational company in China and India. It explored the differences in energy-saving behavior in the workplace between employees of the same organizational culture but different national cultures, as well as the role of social norms and climate change information engagement. The study was based on survey responses from 122 employees in China and 122 employees in India. Statistical analysis revealed that Indian employees demonstrate higher energy-saving behavior in the workplace compared to Chinese employees, and the positive correlation among social norms, climate change information engagement and energy-saving behavior remains. Additionally, social norms and climate change information engagement were found to have a significant mediating effect between Chinese and Indian employees and energy-saving behavior in the workplace. This paper considers climate change information engagement as a key factor in shaping employees' autonomous energysaving behavior in the workplace, offering a new perspective for the psychological study of organizational environmental behavior. The findings provide novel insights for organizational managers in designing and implementing energy-saving strategies, highlighting the importance of fostering a culture of active climate change information engagement. Additionally, a cross-cultural comparative study between Chinese and Indian employees offers guidance for developing culturally sensitive environmental management strategies, thereby strengthening global efforts to combat climate change.
