Household consumption carbon emissions under different urbanization levels-A study based on micro-survey data

英文摘要Household carbon emissions (HHE) have been on the rise in recent years, becoming a key focus for China's carbon reduction efforts. As the primary setting for household activities, it is essential to study the differences in carbon emissions across various levels of urbanization. This study utilizes nationwide household survey data from the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) database to examine HHE across provinces with different urbanization levels from 2014 to 2020, employing the Consumer Lifestyle Analysis (CLA) method. Further analysis is conducted from the perspectives of the urban-rural divide and consumption types. Additionally, we extend the STIRPAT model to explore the key factors influencing HHE. Our findings indicate that as urbanization levels increase, per capita HHE follows an inverted U-shaped curve, where high urbanization level < low urbanization level
