中国近海低玉螺Natica pygmaea Ma&Zhang,1993的替代新名:东海玉螺Natica donghaiensis Ma&Zhang,nom.nov.

英文摘要In the paper entitled “Studies on species of Naticidae off the China coasts, Ⅰ. Subfamily Naticinae with four new species" published in Transactions of the Chinese Society of Malacology, Vol.4: 1—21, pls.1—3, 1993, co authored by MA Xiutong and the present author, four new species were described. One of which, Natica pygmaea Ma & Zhang, has been found to be junior homonym of Natica pygmaea Philippi, 1844, and of Natica pygmaea (Lamarck, 1804). According to the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, this species should be renamed. To substitute the junior homonym, the following new name is now being proposed: Natica donghaiensis, Ma & Zhang, nom. nov. Syn Natica pygmaea Ma & Zhang, 1993, Trans Chin Soc Malacology, 4: 7, 16, pl.1, fig.2 non Natica pygmaea Philippi, 1844, Abb Beschr Conchyl, 1(1):93 Ampullaria pygmaea Lamarck, 1804, Ann Mus Nat His Natur, 5(25):30 Holotype, Reg. No.36544, shell height 8.2mm, shell width 9.0mm. Loc. Donghai (the East China Sea, 28°30′N, 123°00′E), depth 77m. Bottom is muddy and sandy. Collected by Cui Yuheng, Dec. 9, 1959. Field No.D142B 38, NCOS (National Comprehensive Oceanographic Survey) (1958—1960). The species is renamed after its type locality, Donghai——the East China Sea. It is a rare species, as only the holotype specimen has yet been collected up to now. We are very much indebted to Dr. Alan R. Kabat (Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University, MA 02138 U.S.A.) for his kindness of informing the homonymy and suggesting the substitute name.
