Optimization of 3D slope sliding surface combining NURBS method and explicit solution of landslide stability factors

英文摘要Determining the position of the potential slip surface is a critical factor in assessing slope stability. This research proposes a technique for finding the 3D sliding surface. The framework adopts the NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline) method to construct sliding surfaces. Furthermore, an explicit solution, which is based on an assumption regarding the normal stress distribution along the slip surface, is employed to calculate the slope stability coefficient(Fs). The proposed technique consists of two modules. One is responsible for generating NURBS surfaces. The other substitutes NURBS surface equations into the explicit solution equation. Eventually, the most hazardous sliding surface and its Fs can be determined through multiple circulations between these two modules. To verify the feasibility of this approach, two classical landslide cases and a large-scale landslide in a dump site are analyzed and compared with the previous research. The results reveal that the most hazardous slip surface derived from this approach is superior to the canonical-shaped slip surface in the classical case and matches eminently with the actual slip surface in a dump site. Furthermore, the resulting Fs have a less relative deviation from the cases. The in-depth investigation of this paper can provide a trustworthy basis for landslide management projects.
