Development and evaluation of fluorescent optical fiber sensors for chloride ion measurement in actual mortar pore solutions

英文摘要 | Fluorescent optical fiber sensors offer potential for chloride ion monitoring in concrete because of their ease of use and compact dimensions, but they continue to grapple with challenges such as poor measurement precision and insufficient sensitivity. This research synthesized three types of SiO2 fluorescent nanoparticles using lucigenin, rhodamine B, and rhodamine 6G as luminophores. These nanoparticles were then applied to the tips of optical fibers via a sol-gel film to create three types of fluorescent optical fiber sensors. Upon evaluation and examination, it was determined that the sensors could accurately measure chloride ion concentrations in the actual mortar pore solutions within the favorable range of 0.001 M to 0.007 M in the presence of interfering ions. The sensors exhibited a measurement error of 1.2 % and a minimum detectable concentration of 0.001 M. The fluorescent sensors also proved to be reusable and provided stable readings within 15 s, demonstrating their operational capability in engineering practice. |
