Dynamics of polarization characteristics of partially coherent beams featuring radial polarization and elliptical vortex phase in non-Kolmogorov atmospheric turbulence

| 英文摘要 | This study focuses on partially coherent beams featuring radial polarization and elliptical vortex structure (i.e., partially coherent radially polarized elliptical vortex (PCRPEV) beams) propagating through non-Kolmogorov atmospheric turbulence, and derives the analytical expressions for their cross-spectral density matrices (CSDM). Based on these expressions, we have meticulously analyzed the variations in beam degree of polarization (DOP) and polarization power, as well as the dynamic evolution of the state of polarization. The research findings indicate that as the propagation distance increases, the DOP of the beam gradually decreases, transitioning from an initial state of complete linear polarization to elliptical polarization. Moreover, phenomena such as the ‘splitting’ and ‘pairing’ of polarization singularities, as well as the spiral distribution pattern of the polarization orientation angle, have also been observed. The study reveals that these polarization characteristics are significantly influenced by the atmospheric refractive index structure constant and beam parameters such as ellipticity, topological charge, and coherence length.
